CWP welcomes colleagues who are returning to practice after a break from registered practice. We offer placements to match your interests and ongoing individual support to help you achieve your goals.  All colleagues returning to practice will be assigned an assessor and a supervisor for the duration of their placement, along with a practice educator facilitator (PEF).

It doesn't matter how long you have been out of practice - we can give help you to refresh your skills and build your confidence and competence.

Health and Care Professions Council

If you would like to arrange a placement, to complete supervised practice hours, please contact cwp.pefadmin@nhs.net. Please note supervised practice hours are offered on a unpaid basis, but you can apply to HEE for £800 out of pocket expenses.

For any nursing colleagues who would register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), please view their return to practice standards for more information.

There are a number of options available for nursing colleagues returning to practice. If you would like to complete the return to practice at university, there are several local universities that offer a return to practice course:

You can also apply to the test of competency and objective structured clinical assessment (OSCA) or ask about our employer-led route.

Tuition fees are paid by Health Education England (HEE) and you will also be eligible for a bursary. Find out more via the HEE website.
